The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro might seem cheap, most especially now that we have similarly specced phones from other brands costing way higher than this, but the question remains, is it worth buying in 2022, especially when you have, say a phone like the Redmi Note 10 Pro from last year?
Well, let’s find out.

Overview
Okay, so for starters, sorry to burst your bubbles, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro is basically the same phone as the Redmi Note 10 Pro from last year, difference is just a slightly retouched design which is still not a far throw from what the Note 10 Pro looks like, a new MediaTek Helio G96 chipset which a lot of folks out there are clamoring that it’s even a downgrade from the Snapdragon 732G used on the Redmi Note 10 Pro before it, and a bumped up 67W fast charging on a 5000 mAh capacity battery.

Aside from those, literally, everything else on the Redmi Note 11 Pro was carried over from the Note 10 Pro.
You get the awesome 6.67-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, still ticking the clock at a 120Hz screen refresh rate. And just so you know, here are all the Xiaomi phones you can find today that currently rocks a high refresh rate display.
The phone still keeps the Gorilla Glass 5 front and back glass build that has been consistent on the Pro models of Xiaomi Redmi Note phones for up to four generations now, and it carries over the IP53 water splash and dust resistance rating that started with the Redmi Note 10 models.
And moving over to the cameras, the 108MP main sensor on the Redmi Note 10 was good enough and receive many praises from various reviewers and even customers for its superb picture quality, so there was no need to change it this year, don’t fix it if it ain’t broken, right?
And accompanying it are the usual 8MP ultrawide, and two 2MP macro and depth sensors that we’ve come to get used to on midrange Xiaomi phones, and phone brands in the same price range.
And aside from the chipset, another place where Xiaomi made an obvious downgrade on the Redmi Note 11 Pro is on the video recording capability.
So, while the Note 10 Pro from last year could record up to 4K resolution videos at 30 frames per second, the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and in fact, all Redmi Note phones from this year can only go up to 1080p@30fps.
Another thing is, and one which a lot of folks will not easily notice at first glance is the fact that the total battery capacity on the Note 11 Pro has been reduced to 5000 mAh, which is a very small and insignificant reduction from the 5030 mAh that featured on the Note 10 Pro, but Xiaomi did make up for that by bumping the maximum charging speed up to 67W, which the company claims can refill 50% of your depleted battery capacity in just 15 min of plugging in, where the Note 10 Pro will need about 30 min or more to do that same number.
So, having seen the similarities and differences between these two phones, is it wise to upgrade to the Redmi Note 11 Pro if you already own the Note 10 Pro?
Well, to cut the long story short, the answer is an outright “No“.
I mean, you’re basically getting the same package in a different body. Same display, same cameras, same build quality, an even lower-performing processor (according to the folks out there), and whatnot.
So, personally, I don’t think it’s advisable that you should upgrade to this phone if you own the Note 10 Pro, but for people coming from, say the Note 9, 8, and anything lower, then, yes, the Redmi Note 11 Pro is a very solid midrange Xiaomi device that is worth upgrading, and it even featured in our list of the best Xiaomi phones to buy in 2022.
