As was expected, the new Redmi Note 10 phones from Xiaomi are the first phones in the Redmi Note lineup to feature OLED displays, a single centered hole-punch cutout at the top of their displays for their front-facing camera, and no notification LED.
For that reason, today, I’m gonna show you how you can use the hole punch cutout on these phones to create a customizable virtual hole punch notification LED.
Something that will end up looking this way by the time that we’re done setting it up.
Looks cool right? Sure, it does. Now let’s see how we can recreate the same stuff on our Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, Note 10 Pro (Max), and even on our Redmi Note 10S smartphones. #enjoy.

How to set up a customizable virtual hole-punch-inspired notification LED on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, 10 Pro (Max), & Note 10s Phones.
Step One
Go to Google Play Store, search for and download the “and notify” app, or better still, you can save yourself the stress of going to the Play Store and simply click on the button that says “Install” below.
When you’re done downloading and have installed it as well, open it for the first time, and you should be greeted with a welcome screen that looks this way.
Next, tap on the button that says “NEXT” at the bottom of your phone screen, and you will be taken to a new page, where you’ll be required to grant the app access to some necessary permissions that will be requested from you for it to work properly.
When you’re done granting the said permissions, tap the button that says “DONE” at the bottom of your phone screen, and this time, you’ll be taken right to the app’s homepage, or main settings menu page.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 notification LED – Step Two
From the app’s homepage, tap on the first setting option labeled “Notifications“, and a new page will be opened to you that looks like this.
From this page, you’ll be able to set what apps can light up when you receive a new notification from them, and you also get to set battery triggers so that your phone lights up either when you’re charging it, or when the battery gets to a preset percentage.
Step Three
When you’re done setting things up from step.2 above, kindly go back to the app’s homepage, and this time, tap on the next setting option there labeled “Notification light“, and you should have a new page that looks this way.
This page lets you customize your virtual hole punch notification LED on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 phones by adding features like Style, Effects, and Dimensions.
The “Style” option lets you set the areas of your phone screen where you want the virtual hole punch notification LED to be shown and to achieve our aim of this tutorial, we’ll set ours to be shown only around the camera hole punch cutout of our Redmi Note 10, 10 Pro (Max), and 10s phones.
The “Effects” option lets you select any one of the various animation effects to add to your virtual hole punch notification LED, while “Dimensions” lets you resize and reposition the notification LED, in case it doesn’t fit and align properly with the actual hole punch cutout of your phone, you can just use the sliders present on your phone screen to adjust and resize it until it does.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 notification LED – Step Four
When you’re done setting things up the way you like them to be from the last step above, simply go back to the app’s homepage, and this time, select the next option there which is labeled “Settings“, and you should have a new page that looks this way.
This page lets you set the option to hide the hole punch notification LED when you have an incoming call, and it also lets you set a way to dismiss the notification LED by double-tapping on your phone screen, which will, in turn, take you to your lock screen.
When you’re done on this page, go back to the app’s homepage for the last time, and this time, select the next option labeled “Colors“, and you’ll be taken straight to a new page that looks this way.
From this page, you’ll be able to set various custom colors for the virtual hole punch notification LED on your phone.
You can give each app its own unique color so that you know what app exactly it is that you received a notification from the moment you glance at your phone’s screen. You can also set a separate color to show your phone’s battery level, etc.
Final Step (Testing).
After you’re done setting and customizing everything to your taste by following all the steps listed and discussed above, it is high time we take the app and all the settings in it for a spin.
So, go ahead, close the app, and turn off your phone’s display. Now, use a second phone to quickly send a short text to your phone to mimic a new incoming notification.
When the message arrives, you should see your new virtual hole punch notification LED glowing around the camera hole punch cutout of your Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, 10 Pro (Max), and Note 10s phones.
And that wraps it up for today and how to set up a customized hole punch-inspired notification LED on our new Redmi phones.

how to make the aoe notch notification running alongside the default aod provide by miui? cause mine the notch notif only show on a new screen…not within the miui aod
Hello Hasan, to do that, I’ll suggest that you download aodNotify app from Google Play store. That one offers the same features as the AOE app, but integrates well with your phone’s native Always-on display feature.
What does it show to you when you enabled notifications access?
Or, if you’re finding it hard to setup, you can simply download and make use aodNotify app from the Play Store. That one is a lot easier to setup and make use of.
