Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more valuable as individuals and big companies continue to demonstrate how much the improvement of technology could benefit people. There is a widespread fear that people will keep losing their livelihoods to AI, but the danger is here to stay. Why are many companies and businesses employing AI instead of people? Is anything wrong with university graduates?
First, humans are flawed in both memory and the ability to grasp all available insights from large bodies of data. Secondly, it will take a long time for a given person or group of people to read certain amounts of information.
These weaknesses, among others, that we will briefly discuss, are the main reasons why companies prefer AI tools over people.
Here are other reasons why companies are employing more AI tools or admiring the idea:
- Minimalist business owners give AI tasks that don’t need human intelligence to get done.
- It is less expensive to maintain AI tools than to pay humans.
- AI’s ability to gain “better” insights makes it easier to please customers.
- If your CEO only needs a few people to use an A tool’s insights and predictions, the number of decision-makers he pays reduces.
- less errors are expected to occur if AIs are in charge
- AIs don’t rest.

Forbes reported that more companies, especially in China, are employing AI tools increasingly. While fewer in the West are following suit, a good percentage aren’t against the idea.
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, formerly claimed that AI will take all the work humans do in the future. However, the amount of improvement our current models need to get there is still very high. We needn’t expect automated machines to build edifices or run economies without supervision yet.
Finally, the main work of AI is to help people in decision-making. They serve as our second heads, using the data we have already laid at their disposal. Instead of living in fear of losing our jobs, we should rather learn to use AI tools to achieve more.
