The Tecno Camon 18 Premier is one of the new Camon smartphones announced by Tecno earlier this week, and it could easily pass for the best Tecno smartphone that you can get your hands on right now, and for an asking price of ₦182,000 here in Nigeria, let’s see everything that you’ll get on this phone at such a price.
Ready?
Well then, let’s get started. #enjoy.

As of the time of writing this article, the Camon 18 Premier hasn’t yet been listed for sale on any major store, both online and offline in the country, but, it should start popping up on official retail stores such as Slot, Pointek, Jumia, and Xpark in no time, and once it does so, we’ll make sure to update this article with links to the product pages on those stores, so, for now, let’s just say you still have a little bit more time to make up your mind, whether to buy this phone or not.

So, for an asking price of ₦182,000 here in Nigeria, which is still very likely to increase with time as the Dollar to Naira exchange rate keeps increasing, talk about the Phantom X that started at ₦228,000 when it launched, but is now priced at ₦250,000, so, what do you get with this phone?
Well, let’s see.
What you get with the Tecno Camon 18 Premier for ₦182,000.
To keep things short and simple, I’ll say that you get a lot.
First of all, you get one of the best looking, and best premium-feeling smartphones that Tecno has ever built to date, and in my opinion, it even looks and feels more premium than the pricier and flagship touted Phantom X phone.

It comes with this matte glass finish with a flat shiny polished frame, making it look very posh, and even more expensive than it appears.
The display comes in at 6.7 inches, it is an AMOLED panel, one that refreshes at up to 120Hz of screen refresh, and boats of a 1080p+ (Full HD+) display resolution.
Where the Camon 18 Premier got most of its upgrades over the Camon 17 Pro are the cameras, as it boasts of an 8MP 5x optical zoom periscope telephoto camera, a 12MP gimbal-stabilized ultrawide camera, and the main camera sensor coming in at 64MP.
You get Android 11 out of the box, with a new version of Tecno’s HiOS UI, the HiOS 8.0 UI, and I think I’ve heard a couple of YouTubers claiming that Camon 18 Premier will be getting an update to Android 12. Fingers crossed though.
In charge of heavy-duty processing here is the new Mediatek Helio G96 processor, placing it slightly above the Phantom X and Camon 17 Pro that both use the Helio G95 chipset. In addition to that, you get 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, which is yet still expandable via a microSD card.
The Camon 18 Premier comes equipped with a 4750mAh tank full of battery cells, it charges up to 33W via a USB Type-C port, and with a setup like this, you can literally get the Camon 18 Premier up and running up to 64% of battery life, in just 30 min of charging it.
Impressive, right?
So, once again, for a current price of ₦182,000, this is basically all that you’ll get with the Tecno Camon 18 Premier smartphone.
So, do I recommend this phone?
Absolutely, yes, if you have such amount of money to spend on a Tecno smartphone, but, if you don’t, there are also some lesser spec variants still in the Camon 18 family that you can check out, like the vanilla Camon 18, and the Camon 18P.
