Some days ago, I told you guys here that Samsung was planning to launch a new phone this month under the Galaxy A52 lineup, called the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, and guess what, they did.
So, from the name, I bet you already guessed it, this phone takes a lot of cues from the original Galaxy A52 and A52 5G series, especially the 5G variant.
In fact, this phone is exactly the same phone as the A52 5G, but with a whole new Snapdragon processor running inside of it this time around.
So, on the performance side of it, we’ve got a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G mobile chipset, remember that the original Galaxy A52 5G was everything that a mid-range phone could be, but, it was heavily criticized for having an aging Snapdragon 750G chipset when most of its competitors are running on newer and more capable chipsets like the Snapdragon 778G, 860, 870, and even the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 mobile chipsets, so, this phone is basically a correction of the mistake that was made on the original A52 5G.
Compare: Snapdragon 778G mobile chipset vs Snapdragon 750G processor.
Aside from the newer processor, the rest of the specs are exactly the same thing across the newer A52s 5G and the original A52 5G.
So, we’ve got a 6.5 inches AMOLED 1080p+ resolution display, pumping out approximately 405 PPI of pixel density and running at a 120Hz refresh rate.
The display is protected with a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on it, and it is capable of displaying HDR10+ content on it.
The body of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is made of plastic all through just as its earlier siblings, but trust me, they don’t look cheap or feel less-premium in any way. And don’t forget that the A52s 5G is even equipped with an IP67 dust and resistance rating, a feature you won’t find on other competing mid-range phones alike, and with this phone, Samsung has even introduced a new color, called the Awesome Mint.
As for cameras, you’ve got a 64MP main sensor with Dual-Phase Autofocus and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), this is followed closely by a 12MP ultrawide sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a second 5MP depth sensor.
On the front, you’ve got a 32MP wide sensor tucked neatly inside the hole-punch cutout.

The Galaxy A52s 5G comes running Android 11 with One UI version 3.1 out of the box, and it should be getting up to 4 years of software updates and support as promised by Samsung.
While keeping the lights on here is a 4500mAh battery tank that refills using a 25W fast-charging system, and unlike the former Galaxy A52 phones that come with 15W chargers in their boxes, Samsung will be shipping the required 25W charger in the box of this phone.
And don’t forget about the Stereo speaker support too, which sounded great on the former A52 phones, so the new model shouldn’t be any different, and the under-display fingerprint too which worked flawlessly on the older models.
The phone is said to be available in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, as well as 8GB RAM + 256GB storage flavors, and it is said to be available from next month, September 3rd in the UK, but, we don’t know for now if this phone will be coming to Nigeria, which I really doubt since the original Galaxy A52 5G didn’t make it to this part of this world.
So, that is basically everything you need to know about the just-announced Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, let us know what you think about this phone by dropping a comment in the comments section below, give this post a thumbs up by sharing it if you enjoyed reading it, and as always, I’ll see y’all tomorrow, #peace out.
