The Oppo Reno 7 price in Nigeria currently is ₦219,900, this gives you 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage capacity. It can be gotten from any of the official Oppo retail stores across the country such as Slot NG, Pointek, Jumia, and 3C HUB.
So, now that we’ve seen the official retail price of the Oppo Reno 7 phone in Nigeria, let’s try to find out what you stand to get on the phone at such a price.

Overview
Okay, for starters, the Oppo Reno 7 is supposed to be an upgrade to the Reno 6 that was announced last year, right?
Well, sorry to disappoint you, but the Reno 7 is, unfortunately, more of a downgrade than an upgrade from the phone it’s succeeding.
First thing first, the processor has been downgraded all the way from Snapdragon 720G on the Reno 6 to Snapdragon 680 on the newer model.
Again, the 8MP ultrawide camera on the Reno 6 is completely absent on the newer model, and as if that isn’t enough downgrades on the camera side already, the 44MP front-facing camera on the old model has now been replaced by a 32MP sensor, and to even make matters worse, the 4K @ 30fps (frames per seconds) video recording abilities of the Reno 6 has been strip off the Reno 7, and now, you can only record videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p at the same 30fps.
Tragic, isn’t it?
Moving further, in terms of charging, you also get a downgrade as the Reno 7 charges at a maximum speed of 33W, whereas the Reno 6 can do up to 50W. But as compensation for the slightly downgraded charging speed, you now get a slightly larger capacity battery, coming in at 4500 mAh on the new phone, compared to 4310 mAh on the old model.
But downgrades aside, other specs that have been kept the same include the 6.43 inches Full HD+ AMOLED display, still ticking the clock at a 90Hz screen refresh rate even when most mid-range phones in the same price range are already making the jump to 120Hz.
One thing has been upgraded though, and it’s the fact that you now get Android 12 with Oppo’s ColorOS 12.1 out of the box as opposed to Android 11 that we got on the Reno 6 last year.
But two unique things or features that the Oppo Reno 7 has going for it are, first, the Sunset Orange color variant that comes with a leather finish on the back, this looks nothing like you’ve seen before on other midrange phones, and it definitely gives them a run for the money with their plastic builds.
The second one is on the camera module as one of the sensors there, apparently, the 2MP microscope camera has a ring light around it which looks stylish when in function.
It can be used as a form of notification LED, as a charging animation LED, and for the most practical use case of all, as a source of light when taking very up-close macro shots, just like the one shown in this video posted by Eric Okafor on his YouTube channel.
So, putting all these together, it’s sad to say that the Oppo Reno 7 is simply a downgraded Reno 6 especially in terms of performance & camera, with just an upgraded Android version and a camera ring light on one of the cameras, and a ₦219,900 price tag here in Nigeria.
