MediaTek processor list – Just like every other SoC (System on Chip) manufacturer out there such as Qualcomm, Exynos by Samsung, HiSilicon by Huawei, etc, MediaTek also happens to be a chipset or mobile processor manufacturer.
One of the most common instances where you must have used a MediaTek-powered device is on smartphones as their chipsets are most commonly found in Chinese smartphone brands such as Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi, Realme, Nokia (sometimes), and even in some mid-range & entry-level Samsung phones.

Types of MediaTek processors
MediaTek has two major types of processors at the moment, and they’re listed as follows;
- The MediaTek Helio processors.
- The MediaTek Dimensity processors.
The Helio processors always go with the name “Helio“, followed by a single letter of the alphabet ranging from (X, G, P, & A) in front of it, and then affixed with a number.
The letter represents the class of a chipset in terms of performance, while the number shows the generation of the said chipset.
Common examples of MediaTek Helio processors include but are not limited to;
- MediaTek Helio G99
- MediaTek Helio P95
- MediaTek Helio A25
The Helio X series formerly used to represent the highest tier of MediaTek processors in terms of performance, but that lineup has been discontinued and has so far been replaced by the new 5G-enabled Dimensity lineup.
And speaking of the Dimensity lineup, it has a total of 6 classes, the Dimensity 700 series, 800 series, 900, 1000, and the newly introduced and currently highest tier Dimensity 8000 and 9000 series.
So, today, I’ll be showing you everything you need to know about how these MediaTek processors are grouped and ranked, the naming conventions used to differentiate the different classes, and how they differ from each other.
So you’re ready?
Sure, then let’s begin. #enjoy.

MediaTek Dimensity Processors
While the Helio X processors formerly used to take the crown as MediaTek’s top-class chipset in the past, it seems those series have been discontinued and has now been replaced with an even more powerful and 5G-enabled Dimensity lineup.
This new set of processors has taken its place at the top of MediaTek’s processor list, and they do so for a good reason.
First is that they’re 5G-enabled, and even one of the most recent chipsets in this lineup, the Dimensity 9200 has proven to outclass the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm in certain areas, and even going head-to-head with the current Apple’s fastest A16 Bionic chipset.
And even then, we already have some big names in the industry using this processor in their flagships such as the Vivo X90 Pro, Xiaomi 12T, OnePlus 10R, Oppo Reno9 Pro, etc.
At the moment, the Dimensity processors are grouped into a total of 6 different classes, namely;
- Dimensity 700 series.
- Dimensity 800 series.
- Dimensity 900 series.
- Dimensity 1000 series.
- Dimensity 8000 series.
- Dimensity 9000 series.
The higher the number, the higher the class of the processors in terms of performance.
And below is a table of all MediaTek Dimensity processors announced by the company so far.

Nice writeup, love it. But, I think it will make do with a little bit of updating, as MediaTek, over time has released a handful of some hot delicious new processors both from the Helio G series, and the Dimensity lineup, and I couldn’t find any of those here.
But, this is still a solid piece of information btw..
