It’s got a dual camera setup on the back, two 12MP sensors of which one is the main sensor, and the other one is the telephoto with up to 2x optical zoom. And on the front is a single 7MP front-facing camera.

Again, it’s among the first iPhones to feature 4K@60fps video recording on the rear camera as other iPhones before it like the iPhone 7 Plus maxed out at 4K@30fps.

Personally, I think it has to do with budget as anyone buying a 5-year-old phone in 2022 is most probably doing so because they have become cheaper.

So, if you’re looking for one of the cheapest ways to own an iPhone without it feeling like you bought an outdated device say if you went for something like the iPhone 6S or even the 7 series, then I’ll say it’s still a good smartphone in 2022, and one I can still recommend 100%.
