iPhone 7 price in Nigeria UK used
The iPhone 7 price in Nigeria UK is currently selling for ₦81,900 and ₦106,500 for the 32GB and 128GB versions respectively as they both give you 2GB of memory, below is a table showing the best deals on this phone that you can find on the internet right now.
So, having seen the UK used price of the iPhone 7 in Nigeria, what do you stand to get from this almost 6-year-old smartphone in 2022?
Well, let’s find out.
Overview
Okay, so for starters, the iPhone 7 was announced alongside its bigger brother, the iPhone 7 Plus, way back in September 2016, which will make them both six years old come September or later this year when the iPhone 14 series will be announced.
So, for ₦81,900 here in Nigeria, what do you get from buying a 6-year-old Apple device in 2022?
Well, to kick things off, the iPhone 7 like every small Apple iPhone during that era has a 4.7 inches IPS LCD display which Apple termed the Retina display because of its high pixel density, totaling up to 326 PPI which was pretty decent for a 4.7 inches panel.
The phone was the last of the iPhones to feature a metal body as every iPhone after it came with glass, and it’s rated IP67 for ingress protection from water and dust.
It’s also the first iPhone to ditch the physical and iconic Apple rounded home button which at the same time used to act as the fingerprint reader, a.k.a, Touch ID, and instead, it has a pressure-sensitive touch sensor, which again has the shape of the home button and also acts as the fingerprint reader, but not an actual physical button.
And speaking of the things that were removed, the iPhone 7 once again, happens to be the first iPhone that saw the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack before the world followed suit.
Sad times, isn’t it?
But aside from the things that were removed, the iPhone 7 was also the first to introduce a couple of useful specs and features that we see on modern iPhones today.
For instance, it was the first iPhone to ditch the 5MP front-facing camera sensor that was used on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and instead went for a 7MP camera sensor, which will later be used on the iPhone 8, X, XS, and XR series. The back one still remained at 12MP though, which is still used on iPhones today, though the sensors, sensor sizes, and lens are different.
It was the first iPhone to feature a stereo speaker setup, and also the first iPhone to upgrade to 1080P maximum video recording resolution, even though the framerate was capped at 30fps.
So, you see, it was literally the iPhone that changed and shaped the future of iPhones for the better.
In terms of performance, it has the Apple A10 Fusion chipset, it’s a 16 nm Quad-core chipset with 2GB of RAM and is paired with either 32, 128, or 256GB of internal storage.
The phone launched with iOS version 10 out of the box, and according to Apple, this phone will longer be getting any new iOS version updates in the future as it has already gotten its own fair share of 5 years of support, bringing the final and last software version to iOS 15.6, so, if eventually, you buy this phone in 2022, one thing you should have at the back of your mind is the fact that you’ll be running on a now outdated version of the Apple iOS software.
But again, aside from the aging software version, another thing you should have in mind is that the iPhone 7 came with a very small 1960 mAh capacity battery, and before the iPhone 12 and 13 series with their impressive battery lives, the past iPhones have been notoriously known for their very, very poor battery lives and overheating issues.
So, if you still strong-headedly decide to buy this phone right now, then you should definitely get ready to charge it every 1 hr, or better still, use it while it’s plugged in.
So, with all being said, is it advisable to go ahead and buy the UK-used iPhone 7 at its asking price of ₦81,900 here in Nigeria?
Definitely, it’s a “No”.
I would never advise anyone to buy this phone right now, especially when we have better phones like the iPhone 8 with very similar specs, such as the display and cameras, better build quality, glass on both the front and back, a slightly better processor, the Apple A11 Bionic chipset, and to top it all, the iPhone 8 is still under Apple’s software update support list and will be getting the new iOS 16 update come September 2022.
