How to put someone on hold on an iPhone
To do this, all you have to do is;
- While on a call and from the call screen;
- Simply tap and hold the “Mute” button until it changes to hold, and that’s it.
- The call will be put to hold until you decide to unhold or remove it.
And to remove a call from hold, all you have to do is;
- From your call screen, simply tap on the “Hold” button, and the call holding will be removed.
Now that’s for putting someone on hold because you wanted to;
But what if you have a new incoming call while on call, and you want to hold the first call to answer the second call, without terminating or dropping the first call?
Well, that’s where the second method comes in.
How to put someone on hold to accept a new incoming call
To do this, all you have to do is;
- While you’re on a call and you have a new incoming call, you’ll be given three options on your screen.
- You can either ignore/decline the new call;
- Or, you can end the first call and accept the new call;
- Or, you also get the option to hold the first call, and accept the new incoming call.
So, simply choose whichever of the three options that suit you the most, and you’re done.
If you chose the “Hold & Accept” option, the first call will be placed on hold while you answer the new call, and furthermore, you can even merge both calls together to start a new conference call session.
