The ES Explorer or ES File Explorer as it is popularly known is a file manager app that is available for both Android and iOS smartphones, it has quite a handful of very useful features but one which I can guess a lot of persons out there doesn’t know about, and probably they aren’t making use of it.
So what is it? Simple, use it to hide especially your files on your Android phone (apps included), by making use of, or taking advantage of its Recycle Bin tool or feature.
Okay so the ES File Manager app comes pre-installed with this nifty Recycle Bin feature that isn’t turned on by default when you first install the app, and I guess that is the main reason why a lot of people are probably not making use of it, because you didn’t know that it was there all these while.
So today we’re gonna show you.
- How to locate and turn on the ES Explorer recycle bin feature toggle, and after that, we’re also gonna show you.
- How to make use of it, as a means of hiding important files from poking eyes on your Android smartphone.
So without ado, here’s how to get the job done.. #Enjoy..
USING ES EXPLORER TO HIDE FILES/APPS ON YOUR ANDROID SMARTPHONE – STEP 1
Okay so the first thing that we’re gonna be doing is to download and install the ES Explorer or ES File Manager app from Google Play Store, and you can quickly do so by clicking on this link → ES File Manager App for Android
STEP 2 – TURNING ON THE RECYCLE BIN FEATURE TOGGLE
Now after you’ve done that, quickly open up the app, and you’ll be given some briefing on how to navigate or find your way around it in case that was your first time installing and making use of it.
So you can skip all that, and then go straight to the “Settings” menu, by tapping on the three lines that are located at the top left-hand corner of your phone’s screen.
Scroll all the way down until you see the option that says “Recycle Bin” with a little On & Off toggle button beside it. Tap the button once to turn it on all that’s it.
STEP 3
So now that we have succeeded in turning on our recycle bin feature, let’s see how we can make use of it to hide our files. #Shall_We?
Right now all you have to do is locate any file you wish to hide, it might be anything, maybe a music file, a video, images, zip files, or even APK files. You can locate any file by browsing through the ES File Manager.
Long press on the file and you’ll be given a list of options, amongst which will be a “Delete” option. Tap on it and make sure that the next option that says “Move to recycle bin” is checked. With that enabled, the file will be deleted from your phone’s storage but will be stored in the recycle bin’s folder.
The recycle bin’s folder is not like every other folder on your Android smartphone. It is hidden by default, so it won’t make available any files that are hidden inside of it until you restore them, and now let’s see how you can restore hidden or deleted files, back from the ES File Manager Recycle Bin.
STEP 4 – RESTORING BACK HIDDEN FILES FROM ES FILE MANAGER RECYCLE BIN
Okay so to restore your files after you’re done hiding them, here are the things you should do.
- Go back to the ES Explorer home screen (i.e the first screen you meeting when you just open the app)
- Among the grid of options there, you’ll see a downward-facing arrow, just tap on it to expand the options more.
- Look for and locate the option or icon that says “Recycle Bin“, and tap on it to open.
- And when it opens, you will see all your files that are in it. And you’ll be left with two more options right now. Either delete them completely or restore them back to where they used to belong, so the decision is up to you to make.
Okay, so that’s just that about hiding your files and applications, by making use of the Recycle Bin feature that comes pre-installed with the ES File Manager android application.
